Living Bread
Ah! Lord, let me hide in your face.
There, I’ll no longer hear the world’s vain noise.
Give me your love, keep me in your grace
Just for today.
Near your divine Heart, I forget all passing things.
I no longer dread the fears of the night.
Ah! Jesus, give me a place in your heart
Just for today.
Living Bread, Bread of Heaven, divine Eucharist,
O sacred Mystery! That Love has brought forth…
Come live in my heart, Jesus, my white Host,
Just for today.
Deign to unite me to you, Holy and sacred Vine,
And my weak branch will give you its fruit,
And I’ll be able to offer you a cluster of golden grapes
Lord, from today on.
I’ve just this fleeting day to form
This cluster of love, whose seeds are souls.
Ah! Give me, Jesus, the fire of an Apostle
Just for today.

Abandonment
Inspired by the writings of St. Thérèse of Lisieux
(Jesus’ Little Flower)
Lord Jesus, how I thirst for You,
like a well, deep with un-drawn water
You minister to me…Life
in all its fullness,
too immense to grasp –
Let it wash over me.
Lord Jesus, how I love You,
like a candle held to the sun
my little light would touch You,
dimmed by the brilliance
of Your infinite universe
yet shining – deep within me.
Lord Jesus, I abandon myself to You
in sweet surrender at Your feet.
A little flower growing
in Your radiance,
touched red
by the washing of Your blood.
Lord Jesus, tear me from myself –
Throw me where You will,
rolling as a child’s ball
into the arms of Love.
Let me not fight
as You stoop to lift me to You.

Prayer of Abandonment.
Father,
I abandon myself into your hands.
Do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you.
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me
and in all your creatures.
I wish no more than this, O Lord.
Into your hands I commend my soul.
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you, Lord, and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands
without reserve and with boundless confidence,
For you are my Father.

In a bus during a bus tour with Network Ministries, I was reading Story of A Soul. I was making notes of St. Therese’ profound writings, when I suddenly looked out the window to my right. FLOWERS, bushes of wild flowers, huge, yellow flowers. I looked on the other side of the hiway, no flowers.
I marvelled at how I looked at the right moment, through the right window just in time to see a message from St. Therese!! She is so happy to see us reading and becoming closer to God through her words.
Pray for us, St. Therese’.
